These documents and links will help you prepare for Century Painting’s work. You may download these forms, fill them out and have them ready for our painters when we begin.
Color selection
Color selection, custom color matches, sheens and textures should be selected for each room 7 days before the project begins.
Disconnect electrical
Disconnect audio equipment, computers, electrical devices and other technology.
Remove breakables
Breakables such as china and figurines, personal belongings and other valuables should be boxed or placed in room where work is not being performed.
Clear the closets
If the scope of work includes painting closets be sure to have all items removed and stored in another location.
Empty the shelves
Kitchen cabinets, bathroom cabinets, built-ins and bookshelves will need to be emptied prior to arrival is they are to be painted.
Take care of the pets
Pets should be placed outside, in an available room or kenneled for their safety and to maintain the quality of our workmanship.
Prior to our arrival :
- Remove and store any items on the walls in the areas we are painting.
- Clear off all counters, tables, dressers and shelves of all items.
- Rooms should be clear of all clothing, papers, towels, throw rugs, etc.
- If any pictures, hanging items etc., are staying in their current location, please leave their hardware in place. If they are being moved, please pull the hardware and we will patch the holes.
- Grandfather clocks should be secured or removed from area.
- If Century Painting moves pianos, they will have to be re-tuned by others.
- Remove towels, rugs, and accessories from bath and powder rooms.
- Take down curtains and draperies ( Century Painters is not responsible for any damaged window treatment).
- Alarm system should be disabled ( Century Painters is not responsible for alarm company service fees).
- Call us prior to your paint job with any questions or concerns you may have. We will be glad to discuss them with you.
- For your comfort – if you are sensitive to odors (or if anyone is pregnant) you should try to make arrangements to stay away from the jobsite for the duration of the job.
Please relax. You have hired professionals who do this every day. We understand the disruption caused by having work done in your home and we will do everything possible to make it as easy for you as we can.
If you are unable to do any of the items on the checklist, please contact us and we will be happy to make arrangements with you.
We take pride in our professionalism and craftsmanship. Time is taken to prepare and protect your property as if it were our own and to provide the best possible service to complete your project in an efficient and timely manner.
Century Painting will perform the following services:
- All floors and carpeting will be covered with drop cloths.
- All furniture will be covered with plastic sheeting.
- Furniture that we moved will be put back in place upon completion of the job.
- Rubbish and empty paint containers will be removed from the job.
- Leftover paint cans will be marked and left for the customer.
Final Inspection:
- The foreman or our office will inform you of the expected completion day and time.
- We ask that you walk the property with the foreman at the completion of the job to inspect the work and make sure you are happy.
- We will perform any touchups at this time so that we do not have to make a special trip back in the future (although we will if needed per our warranty)
- After you inspect the job please sign the contract and pay the foreman directly or call in your credit card information to our office.
If for some reason you cannot perform a final walk we still require final payment, please call into the office so we can settle up on the balance due.
Color choices
Select color choices for your exterior 7 days before the project begins. Also, have any custom color matches confirmed before we arrive.
Trim foliage
All foliage should be cut away from the home in order to prevent damage to the new paint and allow our crews access around the home..
Pet pickup
Pet waste in the yard should be picked up the day before the project begins. Arrangements should be made for pets for their safety and protection. ServiceFirst Painting cannot be responsible for pets that leave the premises.
Personal items
Remove personal belongings from the front porch or patios and place them in a safe place until painting is complete.
Clean windows
Make sure all windows are closed to prevent water from entering the home when we pressure wash the home.
Sprinklers off please
Remember to turn off sprinklers and pool cleaners to prevent the fresh paint from getting wet.
Lawn service
Finally, be sure to reschedule your lawn service until after the painting is complete.
