There’s no one true answer because everybody is different. If you painted your house say in 2020, and you used the cheapest, and most basic paint, you may have to re-paint your interior in five years.
But, if you used the high-end paint and had an experienced painter apply it, you are looking more in the bracket of ten years. It all depends on the quality of the paint and the quality of the painter.
Now, let’s talk about the exterior. There are a few more variables here. On the exterior of your house, paint is exposed to all of the elements.
Let’s say you live by the ocean, for example. The salt in the air may erode your paint faster, and you may have a four-year window until you need to think about re-painting.
Now, let’s say you had an experienced exterior painter come and paint your house, and you used high-end paint. You are looking at about ten years before you need to re-paint that. It all comes down to the initial investment in both paint and painter quality.
